Rule for calculations within MYFAROG. It's written there (MYFAROG v.2.7/page 4) 'All fractional numbers are rounded up or down normally (i.e. 0.4 and less is 0 and 0.5 to 1 is 1), unless otherwise stated.'.
So, if a character of a level 1, so it means 1/2 = 0.5 and 1/4 = 0.25 of 1 are 1 or 0 (0.25 is less than 0.4).
We need to calculate in this way. Character is at 1 level. It means we need to add 1/2 (0.5 = 1) to all his Character Role Skills first of all. Next, 1/4 can be added to all Trained skills of a character. For example, a character has one Trained Skill, it's Swimming. 1/4 of 1 equals to 0.25, 0.25 is less than 0.4, it means 0. +0 to Swimming. It's nothing. Finally, it's written there that NO MOD to skills he is Untrained in.
Formula to calculate mods for Skills per level. It's written there (MYFAROG 4th Edition/Character Sheet) 'Character Role Skills mod (= Level * 1/2) (max +5)' and 'Trained Skills mod (=Level * 1/4) (max +4)'.
Okay, it seems Varg means that we need to calculate in this way. For example, we take that character of 1 level. So, 1/2 of 1 is 0.5, 0.5 means 1. 1/4 of 1 is 0.25, 0.25 means 0. Next, Character Role Skills mod = (1 * 1) = 1, Trained Skills mod = (1 * 0) = 0. So, Add 1 to all Character Role Skills of that character and don't add anything to his Swimming Skill.
Another one, what he actually means with 1/2 or 1/4 rounded down (page 33/MYFAROG 4th edition). I think he means odd digits or numbers. For example, some character is at 5 level. 1/2 of 5 is (5 / 2 ) 2.5 and 1/4 of 5 is (5 / 4 ) 1.25. Now we need to round these numbers down. 2.5 becoming 2, 1.25 becoming 1. After it we calculate mods. Character Role Skills mod = (1 * 2) = 2, Trained Skills mod = (1 * 1) = 1. So, Add 2 to all Character Role Skills of that character and add 1 to his Swimming Skill. It seems like this.
Have a nice day!

It seems like this. Have a nice day! It's a piece of shit and wrong calculations. Don't use it, guys! I'll prepare correct calculations for you soon. The rule for calculations within MYFAROG v. 2. 7. It's written on page 4 'All fractional numbers are rounded up or down normally (i.e. 0. 4 and less is 0 and 0. 5 to 1 is 1), unless otherwise stated.'. So, if a character of 1 level it means you need to round 1/ 2 = 0. 5 and 1/ 4 = 0. 25. 0. 5 becomes 1 and 0. 25 becomes 0 ( 0. 25 is less than 0. 4). But it's not like this. Because there is otherwise stated for calculations for mods on page 21 (MYFAROG v. 2. 7) hence you always need to ROUND RESULTS DOWN. You have a character of 1 level. First of all, 1/ 2 ( 0. 5 = 1) for all his Skills of Character Role Skills. Next, 1/ 4 can be added to all Trained Skills of your character. For example, a character has 1 Trained skill. That skill is 'Swimming' and he has some other several skills of his Character Role Skills. 1/ 4 from 1 is 0. 25, 0. 25 is less than 0. 4, so 0. 25 equals to 0. + 0 to 'Swimming'. It's nothing. Also + 1 to his Character Role Skills. If you calculate in this way you calculate it incorrectly in this case! Follow these calculations instead : Formula to calculate mods for Skills on every experienced level (page 159, MYFAROG v. 2. 7). There is written 'Character Role skills mod (= Level * 1/ 2) (max + 5) and Trained skills mod (= Level * 1/ 4) (max + 4).'. You have a character of 1 level for example. So, 1/ 2 from 1 is 0. 5, 0. 5 becomes 0. We round 0. 5 down and the result is 0. Next, 1/ 4 from 1 equals to 0. 25, 0. 25 becomes 0. It gives us next results: Character Role Skills mod = 1 * 0 = 0 and Trained Skills mod = 1 * 0 = 0. Another case is when your character of 5 level. 1/ 2 from 5 is ( 5 ÷ 2 =) 2. 5 and 1/ 4 from 5 is ( 5 ÷ 4 =) 1. 25. Now, let's round these decimal quotients down. 2. 5 is turned into 2 and 1. 25 is turned into 1. After it, we perform calculations for mods actually. Character Role Skills mod = 1 * 2 = 2. Trained skills = 1 * 1 = 1. Add 2 to all Character Role Skills of your hero and add 1 to his/her Swimming Trained skill. After all, there is written NO MODS to skills that he/she is Untrained. Your hero always get PENALTY when you test your Untrained skills against a DD (Degree of Difficulty). Train your Untrained skills to make it Trained skills. When only you upgrade your Untrained skills to Trained skills then you can calculate mods to those skills. Yes, you can find your mods with formulas only when you reach NEW EXPERIENCED LEVEL! By the way, I think that (max + 5) and (max + 4) mean if you get results more than + 5 or + 4, when you calculate for mods, just round it down to + 5 or + 4. E.g. your hero is at 15 level. 1/ 2 from 15 = 7. 5, I round 7. 5 down then 7. 5 is turned to 7. It's too many to mods according to rules of MYFAROG. Reduce 7 to + 5 or + 4. Thank you. Have a nice day!
