I got a lot out of reading the Asatru vs. Seidr reading and the festivals. If you try to "connect with your ancestors bruh" and follow Asatru people you will wonder why something isn't quite right about it. You read MyFarog and you know the answer. However spirits and nature magic are not really examined, if you buy a bunch of books about this from people you won't learn anything except their perspective.
I try to standardize it from my impressions by sharing my thoughts but, I come to understand standards are the opposite of what spirits can be so I am done with it.
V put a great deal of information into the festivals and religion/seidr. He has read lots on these topics and I believe influenced by "The Golden Bough" series. Given that it is a game, it is presented in a format where different character classes with different roles collaborate toward some end.
Even though it is a game, I have yet to come across any esoteric books that do this. 90% of them are:
1. You are in a room on your own
2. Draw some magic circle on the floor
3. Say a prayer to some random god (oh thats right it's a "spell"!)
4. Expect some effect to happen
I wonder how many "pagans" are doing this out there. Just in their room on their own praying to some 'pagan' god like they would to the Christian god, thinking something will happen. Sad really.
I suppose some of them are meant to give you that information by participating with others who have read them. Tried that once: most people interested in this in America are degenerates.
So, while a game, it fills my imagination with how actual people in a party work their magic in a real way. Sort of like the difference between reading a sub-sim manual vs. actually getting into the sub-sim game to try it out. Yes, it's a game, but you learn things you wouldn't have otherwise.
Anyways, who cares.
I am sure it makes sense to you or others much more over in Europe where these things never really died out entirely.
I hope that answers your question. I am done with it though. :X
