Hello,
Tectosages here, I am a french rpg game enthusiast from the south of France, near Carcassonne (the actual medieval fortress, not the german game!).
I discovered Myfarog via Thulean Perspective on Gab.com and I was instantly fascinated to find a game firmly rooted in traditional European myths and openly defending conservative values.
You see, after being a player for more than 15 years, a few years ago I started to translate games from english to french for several publishing houses (RPGs, boardgames, card games and also CYOA books).
Recently, I noticed the push for SJW content and PC culture becoming more and more insistent. Games clearly based on Norse mythology had to feature buzzwords like refugees, inclusive and multicultural. Authors were asked to revise their games with the help of "inclusivity consultants" (that are nothing less than agents of the rainbow mafia), and I found myself dumbfounded by gender pronouns tables and genderqueer NPC using exotic grammar.
At my level, I can only try to correct those abnormalities by editing and correcting most of them, often by citing my "lack of understanding" of those subjects, leading to their deletion down the line. But nevertheless, I am fully conscious of contributing to a media that is rapidly becoming infected by cultural Marxism (the roll20 vs 5 white dudes scandal, or DrivethruRPG censorship). I even started to see some radical activists authors request only "queer gamers" to be involved in the adaptation of their games.
While it is impossible for me to change the game publishing industry at large, I still think I have a role to play, in order to defend the fort from the brainwashed hordes.
This is why I humbly offer my help to Varg, if he ever wishes to publish a french version of Myfarog. I can provide example of my previous works in PDF and send my résumé in Private Message, if need be.
All the best,
Tectosages.

Welcome to the forums!
Thanks for the "insider" report of the things we all know are going on :) Unfortunately they surely seem to do a lot of effort to spoil everything good ...
If you are interested to play online there has been an effort to start the campaign .. unfortunately due all things it's been postponed for many weeks now.
Keep up the Thulêan spirit!
Heill Óðinn!

Thank you for your welcome, swarog!
As of right now, I am still browsing the system to get familiar with the rules and the lore. I don't know if that would be enough for me to join an online table in english, but I took the liberty of contacting the members of the forum living in France (as well as posting on the reddit) to establish contacts with local players.
According to you, what would be the right section of the forum to open a thread on the french translation project? My objective is to involve a maximum of francophone players, to provide proof-readers and take in account the advices of the community, to ultimately launch a play-test.

I think it's best if you contact Varg directly about the translation things. And sure you are fine with your English in online games if you are able to translate the game :D

Thanks, I contacted Varg two days ago, using the contact on the french version of his blog. He has my full résumé.
I will only open the translation thread after obtaining a positive response, as a hub for the people involved.
Concerning my participation to an eventual online campaign, I am more concerned about stalling the game by trailing behind and hesitating than making english mistakes, but I'll get there eventually.

Let's wait for his response and go from there. I have no idea what would be most suitable forum for it. The Gardener might have some suggestions on this ... Concerning my participation to an eventual online campaign, I am more concerned about stalling the game by trailing behind and hesitating than making english mistakes, but I'll get there eventually. What you mean by that? Not knowing the rules isn't the blocker. I never read the book through, just browsed through before my initial game. Did watch bunch of actualplay videos though ... It's roleplaying, it's not that serious, you know :D

I know, I tend to overthink things, this is a bad habit. But I am currently listening to the Nippur Sunan campaign, on the channel getrealroleplaying, and in a couple of episodes I should get the hang of it. Translating a lot of games also has the side-effect of often getting my systems mixed-up!

I have received so far no response from Varg, about my proposition to translate Myfarog in french. I sent a message the 5th of may via the contact address on the french version of Thulean Perspactive.
Which channel should I use to recontect Varg, in case my first message was treated as spam? In his last video posted on Gab, he mentionned having troubles connecting to the internet.

Hard to say. Guy loves his privacy. He'll get back to you, probably, when his connection problems are solved.
Have a faith in gods and they'll provide!

Welcome to the forum. I’ve been learning French for the past year and a French version of MYFAROG would be a great way to help learn the language.

Sorry Swarog, but I am currently locked down with a Lankhmar campaign in the upcoming months and I still have to watch more Myfarog content to be familiar with the game. I will be happy to watch and share your sessions, if you plan to record them.
