⚔️TEST BATTLE ⚔️
Two battles happened within rules of MYFAROG v.2.7
Preface
It’s a lot of text with numbers in this post, mate!
Hail, Native Thulêans! I already posted this test battle in the comments here 👉 The Table Of Consequences Of Hits. But I think this example should be posted one more time as a separate topic for more comfortable searching. Enjoy!
Okay. I prepared the second example of a fight, but with all of Combat Rules and all of Optional Rules within MYFAROG v.2.7 respectively.
This test will happen as a battle where Rign (check out screenshots of my character sheet) against a Monster Centipede (page 101).
I gave to Rign linen clothes (common), soft leather boots, an iron cap, iron laminated armour, bronze mail shirt with bronze scales and a long sword of Average Item Quality (pages 47, 48, 49, 66, 69). An iron cap, iron laminated armour, bronze mail shirt with bronze scales give to a character 1 + 3 + 3 + 1 = 8 AV. Also, it gives to Rign -4 MS.
A total weight is 75 lbs and Rign carries a light load. Check out the table on page 23. He wears only a Basic Equipment and a weapon. It means it’s a light load.
First of all, we need to see what a round is. I mean how it happens. Check out page 41.
1. Let my hero that he isn’t scared of a Monster Centipede.
2. My character will try to kill this creature.
3. I don’t use this optional rule at the beginning of a fight, but I will.
4. Righ doesn’t use a horse or other creatures for riding in this case.
5. No random movements at the beginning of a fight, but it will happen.
6. Check initiative. I will.
7. Check fatigue. I will use it.
8. Perform actions. They will.
9. Check for Random Item Damage. I will use it.
Before a fight I need to work out for OV (MÊ) and DV (MÊ). We can do it with tables on page 39.
1. Rign’s OV:
+ melee skill proficiency (Rign has -2, because he has his Mêlèe skill that is Untrained.)
+ encumbrance mod (if carrying a medium or heavy load) (Rign doesn’t carry anything. Just Rign wears an armour + a weapon. No mods.)
+ fatigue mod (if tired, weary or exhausted) (Rign feels good.)
+ 1 if carrying a shield or one weapon in each hand (Rign doesn’t wear a shield and he doesn’t use weapons by his two hands.)
+ other mêlèe mods (see Combat Modifications) (Other Mêlèe mods start to work, when it’ll a battle happen to characters.)
2. Rign’s DV (MÊ):
+ 10
+ melee skill proficiency (Rign has -2, because he has his Mêlèe skill that is Untrained.)
+ shield mod (if using a shield) (He doesn't use it.)
+ encumbrance mod (if carrying a medium or heavy load) (Rign doesn’t carry anything heavy. Just Rign wears an armour + the weapon. No mods.)
+ fatigue mod (if tired, weary or exhausted) (Rign feels good at he beginning of a fight.)
+ weapon mod (if any) (No mods.)
+ other mêlèe mods (see Combat Modifications) (No other mods for right now)
Let’s calculate it. Rign’s OV (MÊ) is -2, DV (MÊ) is +10 – 2 = 8. Also, we need to add AV and Dodging to DV (MÊ). By the way, Rign doesn’t ride a horse or other creatures, he isn’t helpless or surprised. Opponents are not in some tunnel or similar. They will fight just on a flat field. So, (8 + 8 AV = 16 + 1 Dodging = 17 DV (MÊ))
3. Monster Centipede’s OV (MÊ) and DV (MÊ). Actually, you don’t need to search for it, because OV (MÊ) and DV (MÊ) of NPC - non human creatures are written in their statistics already. We know that OV (MÊ) and DV (MÊ) of a Monster Centipede are +10 and +14. But, a Monster Centipede has Dodging = +2 and its Physical Toughness is +2. So, because of it a Monster Centipede has 10 OV (MÊ) and +14 + 2 = 16 DV (MÊ). If a Monster Centipede receives wounds from a weapon, +2 Physical Toughness will be subtracted from a physical damage.
🤖 Rign -2 OV (MÊ) 17 DV (MÊ) vs Monster Centipede 10 OV (MÊ) 16 DV (MÊ) 🐛
Let’s find their initiative(page 41).
1. Rign initiative:
+ D6 (it’s 1 on D6)
+ Dex (or +1 if a creature other then a player character) (Rign’s Dex = +0)
+ mod for talent (Good Reflexes and/or Aggressive) (No those talents)
+4 if using a missile weapon (n/a if using a missile weapon other than a loaded crossbow in mêlèe) (No. Rign uses a long sword 2H)
Initiative Modifications only for Mêlèe
+ size (Rign of +1 size)
+2 if using a long-reaching melee weapon (i.e. a long sword, a javelin, a flail or a war flair). (Yes)
+4 if using a very long-reaching mêlèe weapon (i.e. an angon, a spear, light javelin, staff, trident, sword-scythe or war scythe). See also Charges. (No)
Rign’s initiative is 1 + 0 + 1 + 2 = 4
2. A Monster Centipede’s initiative:
+ D6 (it’s 3 on D6)
+ Dex (or +1 if a creature other then a player character) (So, +1)
+ mod for talent (Good Reflexes and/or Aggressive) (No those talents)
+4 if using a missile weapon (n/a if using a missile weapon other than a loaded crossbow in mêlèe) (No)
Initiative Modifications only for Mêlèe
+ size (A Monster Centipede of +8 size)
+2 if using a long-reaching mêlèe weapon (i.e. a long sword, javelin, flail or war flair). (No)
+4 if using a very long-reaching mêlèe weapon (i.e. an angon, a spear, light javelin, staff, trident, sword-scythe or war scythe). See also Charges. (No)
A Monster Centipede’s initiative is 3 + 1 + 8 = 12
Rign’s initiative is 4 < Monster Centipede’s initiative is 12
🌧Weather and Wind (page 56)🌩
1. It’s a Summer Season 🌳
2. GlîtnijaR (8th month) (Wind Strength -1, Weather -1, Temperature +9)
3. It’s Day Time 🕑
Temperature at a morning was 3 + 2D6. It’s 11 on 2D6 (3 + 11 = +14), A Random Number Generator gave me 3, so it’s +14 + 3 = +17 there. 🌡
5. Partly Clouded (It's 12 on 3D6) – 1 = Clear Sky there.
6. It’s a fog there (It’s 1 on D6)
7. It’s 12 on 3D6. There is a Gentle Breeze 7-10 knots (8-12 mph (check ‘the Beaufort Scale’ out), a Random Number Generator gave me 7. So, It’s 7 knots (8 mph) -1 Wind Strength = Light Breeze 6 knots (7 mph), DD = +0 💨
8. It’s 10 on 2D6. Northerly Wind – 1 Wind Strength = North-westerly Light Breeze, +2 to Temperature. So, +17 + 2 = +19 and + 9 Temperature = +28 Celcius there. 💨🌡
Location is an open flat field with flowers, some herbs and grass. There is a deep chasm in that field covered by a day fog.
METHOD 1 🧮
2. (Declare Actions) Monster Centipede will be attacking Rign / Rign will be trying to protect himself and counterattack with his turn
6. (Check initiative) Rign’s initiative is 4 < Monster Centipede’s initiative is 12
8. (Perform Actions)
9. (Check for Random Item Damage)
ROUND 1
FIGHT! 👊
Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 13 (it’s 13 on 3D6) = 23 vs Rign’s 17 DV (MÊ).
Now, let’s check that table of ‘quality of hits’ (page 39). And we see these formulas there, for example:
1-2 > DV
3-4 > DV
5-6 > DV
So, what does it mean? I think we need to find the difference between 23 and 17. Here we go.
The difference between 23 and 17 is 6. Actually, I made a subtraction 17 – 23 = -6. So the difference is 6.
How to calculate the difference between numbers? You can know it from this website 👉 subtract.info/difference-between/difference-between-1/and+4.html
Okay, it’s 6. It means that the result is greater than DV (MÊ) of Rign by 6. And we look at the table.
5-6 > DV Good hit (damage +2)
D10 + Paralysing Poison PL 10 + 2
It’s 5 on D10.
5 + 2 = 7 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; the difference between 12 and 10 is 2; Result is greater than DD 10 by 2
11 means 1-4 > DD 10 ‘Success’
Immune System of Rign successfully resists a Poison from a Monster Centipede. 🧬
19 – 7 = 6 HP; Rign lost at least 1 HP. Rign lost ½ of his 19 HP.
Firstly we test his Moral (page 42)
3D6 + Wil + the enemy’s fright mod; 11 + 1 Rign’s Wil + (-6) Fright mod of the creature = 6.
Consequence is 6-8 ‘Nervous for D6 rounds’; it’s 3 on D6. Rign’ll stop to be Nervous on ROUND 5. Also, it means -1 to all Skills.
Also, Rign is Seriously Injured (has lost ½ of all HP) (page 44). Consequences of it are -1 OV (MÊ), -1 OV (MI), -1 DV (MÊ), +0 DV (MI)
Stay on your feet! (page 42) (I think that blows of a massive Monster Centipede are really brutal and Rign needs to test his ‘Acrobatics’ skill after each such a hit. I use it only with a case of battle against this creature (Ad hoc Solutions (page 48))
Test Rign’s 'Acrobatics' skill after a strong blow (page 21, 22, 24).
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3; the difference between 3 and 6 is 3. 3 is less than 6 by 3.
3 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
Random Movement (page 45)
It’s 11 on D12. It’s 6 on D6.
RANDOM ITEM DAMAGE (page 46)
It’s 4 on D20. So, it’s no a Random Item Damage this round.
A Monster Centipede is moving forward toward Rign for 15’ and attack him. Rign is being Nervous after such a blow. He didn’t manage to control his balance he almost fall after that blow.
IT IS RIGN’S TURN
Rign has lost his action this round. He’s regaining his balance right now with 17 DV (MÊ) – 1 DV (MÊ) = 16 DV (MÊ).
Monster Centipede’s SP +18 – 1 = 17
SP of Rign is 9 – 1 = 8
6. (Check initiative) Rign’s initiative is 5 + 0 Dex + 1 Size + 2 = 8 < Monster Centipede’s initiative is 1 + 1 + 8 Size = 10
2. (Declare Actions) Monster Centipede will be attacking Rign / Rign will be trying to protect himself then attack
8. (Perform Actions)
9. (Check for Random Item Damage)
ROUND 2
Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 7 (it’s 7 on 3D6) = 17 vs 17 DV (MÊ) (Rign has regained his balance already) of Rign (is Nervous 😰) – 1 DV (MÊ)
17 – 16 = 1
17 is greater than 16 by 1.
OV (MÊ) is greater than DV (ME) by 1 1-2 > Hit (damage)
D10 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
It’s 2 on D10.
2 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance +3 against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance;
3D6 + 3; 4 + 3 = 7; the difference between 7 and 10 is 3; Result is less than DD 10 by 3
7 means 1-4 < DD 10 ‘Failure’
Now, we need to know when paralysing Poison from a Venom Monster Centipede will start work.
It needs to cast D6; it’s 4
4 ≤ 6 < PL 10; D6 + target’s Con rounds. It’s 1 on D6. 1 + 1 Con = 2; Rign’ll be paralysed for 6 minutes after 2 rounds.
When it’s ROUND 4 while this fight is happening, Rign’ll be paralysed for 6 minutes. 1 round = 5 seconds; 1 minute = 5 sec * 12 rounds = 60 seconds; 1 minute = 12 rounds; 6 minutes * 12 rounds = 72 rounds; 60 seconds * 6 minutes = 360 seconds; 6 minutes = 360 sec or 72 rounds.
Rign will be paralysed for 72 rounds or 6 minutes or 360 seconds from ROUND 4.
6 HP – 2 = 4 HP; Rign has lost at least 1 HP. Rign has lost ¾ of his 19 HP.
Firstly we test his Moral (page 42)
3D6 + Wil + the enemy’s fright mod; 10 + 1 Rign’s Wil + (-6) Fright mod of the creature = 5.
Consequence is 6-8 ‘Afraid for D6 rounds'; but:
‘The consequences are not cumulative…E.g, if he is nervous and achieves another nervous consequence the next time you test his morale he will remain nervous and use the longest duration of the two nervous consequences…’
It casted 3 on D6 again. So, it means that Rign just still be nervous for 3 rounds from ROUND 1. Why won’t Rign still be nervous for 3 rounds from ROUND 2 anew? Because the consequences are not cumulative I think.
Also, Rign is Severely Injured (has lost ¾ of all HP). Consequences of it are -3 OV (MÊ), -3 OV (MI), -3 DV (MÊ), +0 DV (MI) (page 44)
Stay on your feet! (page 42)
Test Rign’s 'Acrobatics' skill after a strong blow (page 21, 24).
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 13 + 0 – 1 = 12 - 4 MS = 8; the difference between 8 and 6 is 2.
8 means 1-4 > DD 6 ‘Success’
Random Movement (page 45)
It’s 9 on D12. It’s 4 on D6.
RANDOM ITEM DAMAGE (page 46)
It’s 20 on D20! So, it’s no a random item damage this round, because Rign doesn’t carry a sack or backpack.
A tricky Monster Centipede moved its long body to the left for 5’ and it has inflicted a damage to Rign. Rign is managing to keep his balance after second strong blow, but he’s nervous and Severely Injured…he understands that his death is really close to him right now. Next, the wild beast is moving to Rear for 10’ into the fog.
IT IS RIGN’S TURN
Rign (is Nervous 😰) -2 OV (MÊ) – 1 Nervous mod - 3 OV (MÊ) + 6 (it’s 6 on 3D6) = 0 vs Monster Centipede’s 16 DV (MÊ)
0 – 16 = -16
0 is less than 16 by 16.
OV (MÊ) is less than DV (MÊ) by 16 < DV Miss (no damage)
Random Movement (page 45)
It’s 12 on D12! It’s 4 on D6.
Rign has tried to kill it, but he has missed his target. The fog… It’s a truly terrifying animal…Rign is going to Rear for 15’ off this dreadful multi-leg filth…he didn’t expect he bump into it during day time.
Monster Centipede’s SP +17 – 1 = 16
SP of Rign is 8 – 1 = 7
6. (Check initiative) Rign’s initiative is 6 + 0 Dex + 1 Size + 2 = 9 < Monster Centipede’s initiative is 1 + 1 + 8 Size = 10
2. (Declare Actions) Monster Centipede will be attacking Rign / Rign will be trying to protect himself then attack
8. (Perform Actions)
9. (Check for Random Item Damage)
ROUND 3
Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 13 (it’s 13 on 3D6) = 23 vs 17 DV (MÊ) (Rign has regained his balance already) of Rign (is Nervous 😰) – 3 DV (MÊ)
23 is greater than 14 by 9.
OV (MÊ) is greater than DV (MÊ) by 9 > Exceptional hit (damage +8)
D10 + Paralysing Poison PL 10 + 8
It’s 9 on D10.
9 + 8 = 17
4 HP – 17 = Rign is dead. ⚰️ FATALITY! 💀
Monster Centipede’s SP +16 – 1 = 15
Rign could survive for 15 seconds ⏱ against a Monster Centipede this case.
A Nocturnal Monster Centipede doesn’t like when someone get it up from its slumber. A Monster Centipede has blew Rign for a last time. Rign died without any resistance last seconds of his short life. Next…he was eating up 🥩 by this brutish animal. Venom beast consumed even his bones 🦴 and crawled to its nest that is located into a chasm in the flower field.
Only the bloodied parts of the armour and weapon lie somewhere in wilderness…
HAIL RIGN! 🙋🏼♂️
METHOD 2 🧮
2. (Declare Actions) Monster Centipede will be attacking Rign / Rign will be trying to protect himself and counterattack by his turn
6. (Check initiative) Rign’s initiative is 4 < Monster Centipede’s initiative is 12
8. (Perform Actions)
9. (Check for Random Item Damage)
ROUND 1
FIGHT! 👊
Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 13 (it’s 13 on 3D6) = 23 > Rign’s 17 DV (MÊ).
≥ 10 > DV Perfect hit (damage +10)
D10 + Paralysing Poison PL 10 + 2
It’s 5 on D10.
5 + 10 = 15 + Paralysing Posion PL 10
Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12;
12 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
Now, we need to know when paralysing Poison from a Venom Monster Centipede will start work.
It needs to cast D6; it’s 1
1 ≤ 6 < PL 10; D6 + target’s Con rounds. It’s 1 on D6. 1 + 1 Con = 2; Rign’ll be paralysed for 6 minutes after 2 rounds.
When it’s ROUND 3 while this fight is happening, Rign’ll be paralysed for 6 minutes. 1 round = 5 seconds; 1 minute = 5 sec * 12 rounds = 60 seconds; 1 minute = 12 rounds; 6 minutes * 12 rounds = 72 rounds; 60 seconds * 6 minutes = 360 seconds; 6 minutes = 360 sec or 72 rounds.
Rign will be paralysed for 72 rounds or 6 minutes or 360 seconds

Monster Centipede’s SP +17 – 1 = 16
Rign could survive for 10 seconds ⏱ against a Monster Centipede this case.

TOTAL:
Rign survives:
3 ROUNDS BY the METHOD 1
2 ROUNDS BY the METHOD 2
I didn’t use Cut/Shock effects, because of a Monster Centipede uses its Natural Weapons (page 49). Natural Weapons don’t have Cut/Shock effects. A Long Sword has it, but Rign didn’t manage to hit that animal even for an one time.
I think that it needs to use the METHOD 1 only, because it seems to me like it gives correct results with varying consequences. If you use the METHOD 2 you have too often the same results, it doesn’t look like it must be in this way. Moreover, you have a chance to survive for a bit more rounds with the METHOD 1. This is my point of view.
By the way, how to count for ½ or ¾ of total HP of your character (this forum doesn't support fractions, so I uploaded a picture):
If you can't see this picture you can download it with this link 👉 postimg.cc/WqzKP3Pp
Actually, 19 is a odd number. Calculations must be more easy with even numbers I think. Or just use a calculator, of course.
So, I’d like to tell you that if you think that the method 2 for qualities of hits was correct it means I need to give you to know that you’re wrong with it. Lol! 😄 Why are you wrong? I’ll show you.
When it was ‘Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 13 (it’s 13 on 3D6) = 23 > Rign’s 17 DV (MÊ)’ (first round with the method 2) there is 23 > 17. This result is impossible within that table on page 39. Let’s check it out. Is it 23 ≥ 10 > 17 DV (MÊ)? No. Yeah, 23 ≥ 10, but 10 isn’t greater than 17. Where’s an answer for 23 OV (MÊ) > 17 DV (MÊ) there? There is no answer for such the method of calculation. In this case, you need to count for a difference between OV (MÊ) and DV (MÊ) definitely only. Only the method 1 for it.
Several examples with both different methods more:
METHOD 1 🧮:
'5 + 2 = 7 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
Testing of Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; the difference between 12 and 10 is 2; Result is greater than DD 10 by 2 (it's key words 'greater than' here. 2 in the positive context in this case.)
12 means 1-4 > DD 10 ‘Success’
or
'5 + 2 = 7 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
Testing of Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 4 + 3 = 7; the difference between 7 and 10 is 2; Result is less than DD 10 by 2 (it's key word 'less than' here. Now 2 is in the negative context.)
7 means 1-4 < DD 10 ‘Failure’
METHOD 2 🧮:
'Testing of Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; (You just compare digits and numbers as they are)
12 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!'
or
'Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 4 + 3 = 7; (You just compare digits and numbers as they are)
7 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!'
Actually, if you get high numbers it doesn't mean you 'win' when you test it. Different PL, Conditions, Circumstances, Experienced Levels, Resistences, mods, etc give you really different results unexpectedly.
Moreover, I’d like to tell you that if you think that the method 2 for ‘Stay on your feet!’ or 'Poison Resistance' was correct it means I need to give you to know that you’re wrong with it. Lol! 😄 Why are you wrong? I’ll show you.
METHOD 2 (we compare results as they are against DD 6) 🧮:
Stay on your feet! (page 42)
Test Rign’s 'Acrobatics' skill after a strong blow (page 21, 24).
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3
3 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
All possible results except Natural Results 🧮:
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 5 + 0 – 1 = 4 - 4 MS = 0 (no answer for 0 in the table on page 22)
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 6 + 0 – 1 = 5 - 4 MS = 1 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 7 + 0 – 1 = 6 - 4 MS = 2 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 9 + 0 – 1 = 8 - 4 MS = 4 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 10 + 0 – 1 = 9 - 4 MS = 5 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 11 + 0 – 1 = 10 - 4 MS = 6 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!

METHOD 1 (we compare a 'positive' and 'negative' differences against DD 6) 🧮:
'Stay on your feet!' (page 42)
Test Rign’s 'Acrobatics' skill after a strong blow (page 21, 24).
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3; the difference between 3 and 6 is 3

All possible results except Natural Results 🧮:

Now, a proof that the METHOD 2 is incorrect for calculations for ‘Poison Resistance’.
METHOD 2 (we compare results as they are against DD 10) 🧮:
'Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.

TOTAL 2:
Only the battle by the method 1 happened okay.
The battle by the method 2 isn’t okay.
THE METHOD 2 is incorrect!
THE METHOD 1 is correct.
If you see mistakes in my calculations, so just give me to know about it, please. Thanks!

Rign has +3 Poison Resistance;
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12;
19 – 15 = 4 HP; Rign has lost at least 1 HP. Rign has lost ¾ of his 19 HP
Firstly we test his Moral (page 42)
3D6 + Wil + the enemy’s fright mod; 11 + 1 Rign’s Wil + (-6) Fright mod of the creature = 6.
Consequence is 6-8 ‘Nervous for D6 rounds’; it’s 3 on D6. Also, it means -1 to all Skills.
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3
3 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
Random Movement (page 45)
It’s 11 on D12. It’s 6 on D6.
RANDOM ITEM DAMAGE (page 46)
It’s 4 on D20. So, it’s no a random item damage this round.
A Monster Centipede is moving forward toward Rign for 15’ and attack him. Rign is being Nervous after such a blow. He is able not to fall after an attack of this wild beast, but he has lost his balance.
ROUND 2
Monster Centipede (A) 10 OV (MÊ) + 7 (it’s 7 on 3D6) = 17 vs 17 DV (MÊ) (Rign has regained his balance already) of Rign (is Nervous 😰) – 1 DV (MÊ) - 3 DV (MÊ)
≥ 10 > DV Perfect hit (damage +10)
D10 + Paralising Poison PL 10 + 10
It’s 2 on D10.
2 + 10 = 12 + Paralysing Posion PL 10
4 – 12 = Rign is dead. ⚰️
Monster Centipede’s SP +17 – 1 = 16
Rign could survive for 10 seconds ⏱ against a Monster Centipede this case.
A Nocturnal Monster Centipede doesn’t like when someone get it up from its slumber. A Monster Centipede blew Rign for a last time. Rign died without any resistance last seconds of his short life. Next…he was eating up by this brutish animal. Venom beast consumed even his bones and crawled to its nest that is located into a chasm in the flower field. The animal isn’t satisfied with such a small amount of food. 😡
Only the bloodied parts of the armour and long sword lie somewhere in wilderness… 🩸🩸🩸
HAIL RIGN! 🙋🏼♂️
May the god bless us all

3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 12 + 0 – 1 = 11 - 4 MS = 7 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 13 + 0 – 1 = 12 - 4 MS = 8 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 14 + 0 – 1 = 13 - 4 MS = 9 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 15 + 0 – 1 = 14 - 4 MS = 10 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 16 + 0 – 1 = 15 - 4 MS = 11 means ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
METHOD 1 (we compare a 'positive' and 'negative' differences against DD 6) 🧮:
'Stay on your feet!' (page 42)
Test Rign’s 'Acrobatics' skill after a strong blow (page 21, 24).
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3; the difference between 3 and 6 is 3
3 means 1-4 < DD 6 ‘Failure’
All possible results except Natural Results 🧮:
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 5 + 0 – 1 = 4 - 4 MS = 0 (the difference between 0 and 6 is 6; no the difference); 6 ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 6 + 0 – 1 = 5 - 4 MS = 1 (the difference between 1 and 6 is 5; 1 is less than 6 by 5); 5 ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 7 + 0 – 1 = 6 - 4 MS = 2 (the difference between 2 and 6 is 4; 2 is less than 6 by 4); 4 1-4 < DD 6 'Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 8 + 0 – 1 = 7 - 4 MS = 3 (the difference between 3 and 6 is 3; 3 is less than 6 by 3); 3 1-4 < DD 6 'Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 9 + 0 – 1 = 8 - 4 MS = 4 (the difference between 4 and 6 is 2; 4 is less than 6 by 2); 2 1-4 < DD 6 'Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 10 + 0 – 1 = 9 - 4 MS = 5 (the difference between 5 and 6 is 1; 5 is less than 6 by 1); 1 1-4 < DD 6 'Failure’
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 11 + 0 – 1 = 10 - 4 MS = 6 (the difference between 6 and 6 is 0; no the difference); 6 ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 12 + 0 – 1 = 11 - 4 MS = 7 (the difference between 7 and 6 is 1; 7 is greater than 6 by 1); 1 1-4 > DD 6 'Success'
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 13 + 0 – 1 = 12 - 4 MS = 8 (the difference between 8 and 6 is 2; 8 is greater than 8 by 2); 2 1-4 > DD 6 'Success'
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 14 + 0 – 1 = 13 - 4 MS = 9 (the difference between 9 and 6 is 3; 9 is greater than 6 by 3); 3 1-4 > DD 6 'Success'
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 15 + 0 – 1 = 14 - 4 MS = 10 (the difference between 10 and 6 is 4; 10 is greater than 6 by 4); 4 1-4 > DD 6 'Success'
3D6 + 0 Dex – 1; 16 + 0 – 1 = 15 - 4 MS = 11 (the difference between 11 and 6 is 5; 11 is greater than 6 by 5); 5 ≥ 5 < DD 6 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; (You just compare digits and numbers as they are)
12 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!'
All possible results except Natural Results 🧮:
3D6 + 3; 5 + 3 = 8 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 6 + 3 = 9 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 7 + 3 = 10 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 8 + 3 = 11 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 10 + 3 = 13 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 11 + 3 = 14 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 12 + 3 = 15 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 13 + 3 = 16 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 14 + 3 = 17 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 15 + 3 = 18 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 16 + 3 = 19 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
METHOD 1 (we compare a 'positive' and 'negative' difference against DD 10) 🧮:
'5 + 2 = 7 + Paralysing Poison PL 10
Testing Rign’s Poison Resistance against DD 10 (page 28, 21, 22)
Rign has +3 Poison Resistance.
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; the difference between 12 and 10 is 2; Result is greater than DD 10 by 2 (it's key words 'greater than' here. 2 in the positive context in this case.)
12 means 1-4 > DD 10 ‘Success'
All possible results except Natural Results 🧮:
3D6 + 3; 5 + 3 = 8; the difference between 8 and 10 is 2; Result is less than DD 10 by 2; 2 1-4 < DD 10 'Failure’
3D6 + 3; 6 + 3 = 9; the difference between 9 and 10 is 1; Result is less than DD 10 by 1; 1 1-4 < DD 10 'Failure’
3D6 + 3; 7 + 3 = 10; the difference between 10 and 10 is 0; no the difference; 10 = DD 10 'Semi-Success'
3D6 + 3; 8 + 3 = 11; the difference between 11 and 10 is 1; Result is greater than DD 10 by 1; 1 1-4 > DD 10 'Success'
3D6 + 3; 9 + 3 = 12; the difference between 12 and 10 is 2; Result is greater than DD 10 by 2; 2 1-4 > DD 10 'Success'
3D6 + 3; 10 + 3 = 13; the difference between 13 and 10 is 3; Result is greater than DD 10 by 3; 3 1-4 > DD 10 'Success'
3D6 + 3; 11 + 3 = 14; the difference between 14 and 10 is 4; Result is greater than DD 10 by 4; 4 1-4 > DD 10 'Success'
3D6 + 3; 12 + 3 = 15; the difference between 15 and 10 is 5; Result is greater than DD 10 by 5; 5 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 13 + 3 = 16; the difference between 16 and 10 is 6; Result is greater than DD 10 by 6; 6 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 14 + 3 = 17; the difference between 17 and 10 is 7; Result is greater than DD 10 by 7; 7 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 15 + 3 = 18; the difference between 18 and 10 is 8; Result is greater than DD 10 by 8; 8 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
3D6 + 3; 16 + 3 = 19; the difference between 19 and 10 is 9; Result is greater than DD 10 by 9; 9 ≥ 5 < DD 10 ‘Critical Failure’!
TOTAL 2:
Only the battle by the method 1 happened okay.
The battle by the method 2 isn’t okay.
THE METHOD 2 is incorrect!
THE METHOD 1 is correct.
If you see mistakes in my calculations, so just give me to know about it, please. Thanks!
