A small suggestion, but maybe the forum could use some consolidation? Many of the sub forums have very little threads and postings, and perhaps making them more general will garner more discussion since the topics won't be so niche.
For example/suggestion:
"Rules & Game Mechanics" and "Tips and Tactics" could merge together
"Myth Masters Only," "Homebrew & House Rules" and "Myth Masters Guild" could be merged together.
The non-MYFAROG discussion could all be one sub forum.
And perhaps merging the Character Roles section into one forum as well.
I think it would clean up the forum and stimulate more discussion, I have experience running forums (mostly music related however) and it seems like keeping things short and sweet made a difference. It will also give the forum the appearance of being more active which will hopefully draw more new members. Having a bunch of sub forums with 1-5 threads doesn't seem as active as a few forums with many threads and newer posts. Just my 2 cents though.

Yes! Less is more and more is more and all that. :) There are probably too many categories and it's a bit confusing and over whelming for some and that might block people from starting a thread. Also making categories that are empty aren't the best way to courage people to write content. I have run forums over 20 years and I did have dial up BBS back in the days before common interwebs access.. so it's no new thing for me. Less is totally more on these and more content in is more content coming in. Activity is relative and correlates with the activity seen. Less activity usually ends up with less activity. More activity usually means more activity. People are strange and all that you know :) Good points Gangland!

Sounds like it could work. I don't even use the main forum page anymore I just look at the recent posts page myfarog.proboards.com/posts/recent and if a thread gets more than 3 or 4 posts I goto it then. I think many would do the same. I'm still browsing through from the index, but that is just how I roll. But yeah. I think it would accelerate interaction if there isn't that many categories and more action on those what are there...
